Alliance Raids are some of my favorite content in FFXIV, especially Alliance Raid Roulette. Wait times are fast for DPS. You never know what you are going to get, but Jeuno: the First Walk is popping a lot since it launched a few weeks ago.

Drops

Jeuno drops the usual token to trade for an upgrade material, which you get once per week on your first clear, and the ability to roll on gear until you get one piece.

Gear

This ilvl 720 gear is nice to get if you are catching up. I want to like the look of the set, but I don't. Like a lot of things the shoulders just hang weird on me. Maybe it's better on female characters.

Other Stuff

But there's other goodies, like a new minion, orchestrion tokens, and the new TTT card (I won it today! Fuck yeah).

FFXI memories

After running the raid today, I went back the the beginning, and just took in the city.

FFXI

I didn't play FFXI very much. I was late to the party, but I did really enjoy what I did play. Vana'diel made a huge impression on me. There's just something so strange and wonderful about that world.

Today, standing in Jeuno again, I thought back to my time in FFXI and missed it badly. It's so weird that a game I played only briefly brought out those strong feelings.

Returning to Vana'diel

[Update: I made it to Jeuno through Unity Warp] I re-downloaded and reinstalled FFXI. I had my old PlayOnline account so the setup was pretty painless. I guess I'll go visit the old Jeuno again. I'm not sure how long it will be there, but I'm glad it still is.
