FFXIV Gear Gallery: Blue Mage gear and how to get it

Blue Mage has its own unique job gear with a distinct aesthetic. BLU gear, weapons, and accessories come from various sources, including job quests and challenging achievements. Read on for info on all sets and how to get them. Lots of pictures in this one.

Unlocking the Blue Mage job requires completion of the ARR MSQ and having a battle class at level 50 or higher.

How to get BLU gear and Weapons

BLU gear sets are obtained through the completion of job quests. Accessories are unlocked by job quest completion but must be purchased with Allied Seals. Weapons can come from job quest rewards, purchased with Allied seals, or locked behind challenging achievements.

All BLU gear sets are modeled here with the exception of the BLU-only accessories. I'm also modeling all weapons except one. My favorite two weapons are first. Then, gear is modeled from lowest to highest level.

Exquisite Gentlemage's Umbrella

Upgraded Gentlemage's Umbrella.

Available from: Khaldeen, Radz-at-Han (X:10.9, Y:10.4)

Prerequisite: Trade the Gentlemage's Umbrella and 1x Elevated Ester

A straight upgrade to the Gentlemage's umbrella. I don't have this upgrade. The material comes from Another Aloalo Island Criterion Savage, and I'm not really doing Criterion at this point, much less Savage. I use Blue Eyes anyway, so as far as glamour purposes, I don't need the Exquisite version.

Da Ba Dee

I've enjoyed my BLU journey along the way. Putting up random PFs to grab spells and do the BLU log, 24 BLUs in Tower at Paradigm's Breach, Tail Screw or Missile to nearly one-shot bosses, there's so much you can get up to as a BLU.

It can seem like a lot of work at first, but I'll explain everything in a future post. There are some amazing resources out there to get you going.
