ESO: Leveling tips and tricks

I've power-leveled quite a few characters in ESO.

You can get a friend or guildmate to blast you through Skyreach or BRP (Blackrose Prison) many, many times. With BRP at least you get some good arena weapons if you run it all the way through.

There's a few grind spots too that you can run around in a circle and kill things, or the dolmen trains.

But what I prefer to do is level efficiently but through doing actual content. When executed well you don't end up with a CP level potato that doesn't have any skill points or skills leveled.

Here's some of my intial strategies.

Get all the wayshrines

If you are in a guild, warp to everyone on your list. It's free and you get XP for each wayshrine you discover. Easy XP and sets you up well for later.

Grab a companion

Traveling with a companion from early on increases the speed in which you defeat enemies and gets you started on their rapport building. Plus some of them are fun to have around and bring useful abilities to your party. I once saw a Mirri survive halfway through Sunspire (on Normal of course). She does not mess around.

You only need a skill on your bar to level a skill line

This is a game-changer if you don't know this already. Using a destro staff but want to level dual wield at the same time? Put a dual wield skill on your bar and level the skill and weapon line at the same time. Thinking of being a tank or healer down the road? Or a dps if you're playing support? Throw a skill on there and get yourself working on the future. Along those lines--

Get started on every weapon skill line

Equip each type of weapon and kill something with it. Now, you can passively level lines like I mentioned above. You never know what they're next meta is and you do not want to have to level a whole line after a patch comes out before you have raid next week.
